RM Creative continues our founders’ mission to contribute to the community through thoughtful design and exceptional service. Our story is one of growth and evolution that stays true to our fundamental values.
John Radelet, a successful architect serving as President of a large firm, envisioned a practice where leadership maintained involvement in projects from concept through construction. Janet McCarthy, a certified specifications writer with a passion for business and design, had a similar vision with an emphasis on service. In 1993, they started Radelet McCarthy Architects and Interior Designers.
In doing so, Janet established herself as one of the first female principals of an architectural firm in Pittsburgh. Janet was a passionate community activist dedicated to serving others. She and John were committed to providing their employees with not only a career but also a means to support themselves and their communities.
RM Creative has always invested in its staff and provided career development and opportunities for advancement within the firm. Among those early hires were David Wells in 1995, Julie Polletta in 1998 and Kelly Brown in 2002.
Julie became Principal in 2007 and during her time the company’s name changed to Radelet McCarthy Polletta. She remained an owner of the firm until her retirement in 2020.
David and Kelly became Principals in 2010 and have guided the firm’s evolution through to today.
Stephen Winikoff joined the firm in 2018 and became a Principal in 2020.
Kelly, David, and Stephen continue to lead RM Creative, driving our company forward with the help of our current team of talented professionals.
In 2019, the firm rebranded to RM Creative as a way to honor our roots while boldly declaring our ongoing adaptation and dynamic level of service.
RM Creative appreciates our founders and embraces our ever-changing future. Janet and John demanded that we be humble and of service and while the process should be enjoyable, the outcomes should be exceptional. David, Kelly, Stephen and the rest of the team at RM Creative take that to heart every day in delivering creative solutions to complex challenges.
A tradition in our office is to mark milestone achievements and memorable moments by making a toast, writing upon a cork and adding it to the pile in the bottle. We look forward to growing and evolving alongside the clients and communities we serve.
